    Dieser hervorragende, rubinrote Pinot Noir bietet der Nase Aromen von reifen Kirschen und roter Johannisbeere, dazu Noten von Mokka, Vanille und Gebäck. Am Gaumen kommt ein komplexer, üppiger Mix aus reifen Kirschen, schwarzen Früchten und einem Hauch würziger Vanille an. Der maßvolle Körper, Tannin- und Säuregehalt verbinden sich in einem perfekten Gleichgewicht. Die komplexe Schichtung macht diesen Wein höchst interessant und angenehm. Der Abgang ist lang und nachhaltig, mit einem würzigen und mineralischen Anklang am Ende.

    Eine perfekte Ergänzung zu rotem Fleisch wie Rind oder Lamm, zu weißem Fleisch, Nudelgerichten und Käse.

    Die Kellerei Joseph Phelps Winery setzt alles daran, die Frucht in einwandfreiem Zustand zu belassen. Dazu gehört das Lesen vor Sonnenaufgang von Hand, händisches Sortieren, sanfte Kelterung und eine lange, langsame Gärung. Nach 13 Monaten Reifung in Eichenfass entstehen komplexe Weine von hoher Qualität, die viel nachgefragt werden. Man glaubt, dass das Terroir den Wein macht. Auch Joseph Phelps glaubt daran und handelt danach.
