Geschichte

Das Weingut Capannelle liegt auf 20 Hektar Land in der Region Gaiole in Chianti, Siena. Zuvor war es im Besitz von Raffaele Rossetti, der ein Bauernhaus aus dem 16. Jahrhundert kaufte. 1974 begann die Produktion auf dem Weingut und 1975 wurde der erste Chianti veröffentlicht. Seit den bescheidenen Anfängen ist das Weingut gewachsen und produziert heute einen Chardonnay IGT, Solare IGT, Chianti Classico Riserva DOCG sowie einen roten 50&50, eine Mischung aus Merlot und Sangiovese. Die Idee für die 50&50-Mischung wurde durch eine außergewöhnliche Ernte im Jahr 1988 inspiriert und enthält einen Merlot aus Avignonesi di Montepulciano, der das Beste aus zwei Welten vereint. Die Capannelle-Produktion geht über den Wein hinaus und liefert jedes Jahr 800 Liter Olivenöl extra vergine.

Interessante Fakten

Der Einsatz von Hightech bei der Weinproduktion und die sorgfältige Beachtung des Reifeklimas sind ein Schwerpunkt des Weinguts Capannelle. Die Gärbottiche und alle Rohrleitungen und Ventile sind aus Edelstahl, um eine hygienische und geschlossene Umgebung zu gewährleisten und den Duft des Weins nicht zu verändern. Ein Mikroklima entsteht dadurch, dass der Barriquekeller 3 Meter unter der Erde liegt und klimatisiert ist, um das richtige Temperatur- und Feuchtigkeitsniveau zu gewährleisten. Der Wein wird in Holzbehältern ausgebaut, perfekt für die Chardonnay- und Solare-Weine. Die Weißwein-Barriques werden jedes Jahr ausgetauscht, während die Rotwein-Barriques alle zwei Jahre ersetzt werden.
