Geschichte

Das Weingut wurde von Didier Belondrade gegründet, der nach Rueda kam und sich davon inspirieren ließ, burgundische Weinbautechniken anzuwenden, um aus der lokalen Verdejo-Traube außergewöhnliche Weißweine herzustellen. Was Mitte der 1990er Jahre als winziges Projekt mit gemieteten Rebstöcken und einer kleinen Ecke auf dem Weingut eines Freundes begann, entwickelte sich schnell zu Belondrades eigenem Weingut auf der Hochebene von La Seca in 760 Metern Höhe.

Der Weinberg von Belondrade umfasst etwa 30 Hektar, die auf kiesigen Böden mit einer Unterschicht aus Ton und Sand angepflanzt sind. Die genaue Beschaffenheit des Bodens ist von Parzelle zu Parzelle sehr unterschiedlich, was es Belondrade ermöglicht, die Persönlichkeit jedes Weins genau auf den Jahrgang und die Mikroterroirs seiner Weinberge abzustimmen.
